Need to improve your accent?
You feel frustrated or even a bit shameful when you're speaking French? You feel like you're not "sounding French"? You like having fun, acting a bit (even if you're bad at it!)? Then this workshop is made for you!

You'd like to improve your French accent?
You have a rather good level in French, and yet you're uncomfortable when you speak, you're not confident and you feel like people can immediately tell you're not native?
As a result, you're a bit ashamed, frustrated, you feel like your French isn't good (even though it is!) and you might even use another language instead when possible.
Thing is, if you feel like you're bad at speaking French, at pronuncing, at sounding French...It's rarely just a question of pronunciation or "bad accent". The thing is that French accent is based on two principles: vowel accentuation, and the lazinss principle (I explain it all in the workshops)
And on top of using these principles, you need to adapt your way of speaking, pronunciation and intonation to the context. And that's far from intuitive!
What if you were finally proud of your French accent?
If you want to finally be super confident when speaking, I have the solution for you!
Traditional pronunciation exercices are - let's say it - super boring. It's not fun to repeat the same stupid sentence over and over again. What I'm offering is to dive into the topic with theatrical activities, context, emotions, intonation... All of it! That's THE way to overcome your frustration and improve your French and your accent. In all contexts! (because you're not going to accentuate the same way at work or when chatting with friends!)

Who am I?
Hi, I'm Lucile! I've been teaching French for 5 years. I'm a big nerd when it comes to languages, fiction and nerdy culture. I love meeting people and helping them reach their goals in French!
I work with theater because I know that field pretty well (did theater for 10 years and now improv!), so I know how helpful it can be with confidence, being more at ease, letting go of pressure and improving our way of speaking!
Who is this workshop for?
Registrations for the second trimester are now open! ✨
This workshop is for you if your accent frustrates you or prevents you from speaking French when you have the opportunity. It is also for you if you are looking to be more natural in informal conversations, and if you want to improve through fun activities and not just repeating sentences!
This is NOT for you if you are already happy with your accent, or if it is not important to you. You also need to be at least A2 in French to do the activities.
How are we going to improve your accent?
To improve the accent (fluency, intonation, emotions, etc.) and pronunciation (if necessary), we will work with fun and creative activities:
- Tongue twisters, incredibly useful for warming up!
- Practice fluency with fun sentences
- Shadowing methods (analysis and imitation of short moments of videos)
- Theater games (but you don't need to be good at theater or improv, don't worry!)
- En faisant des liens entre les gestes et l’accent
With all this, we will focus on how to emphasize vowels (unlike English which emphasizes consonants), and how to improve fluency with the principle of laziness (the French are the laziest people in the world!), and finally how to adjust your intonation to the context!
How does it work?
The program lasts for one trimester, every other week :
- A short introductory session (30 minutes) to get to know each other, break the ice and so that I can see your specific difficulties
- 6 live workshops (1 hour, every two weeks) to practice according to your difficulties
- An individual Google Drive folder, where I put feedback on your progress, and personalized advice for working during and outside of workshops
- You can easily re-register for the following term.
How much does it cost?
For a quarter with 30 minutes of intro, 6 workshops and individual monitoring, the price is 180€ paid when you register, through bank transfer or stripe
BONUS: Pronunciation guides!
As the workshops are focused on practice and not theory, I offer you as a bonus a file with documents on how pronunciation works in French, and the key points to have the French accent!
