Need to improve your accent?

Do you feel frustrated or even a little ashamed when you speak French? Do you feel like you don't "sound French"? Then this workshop is for you!

You will be able to improve your accent and pronunciation in a fun and dynamic way (no stupid and simple repetition here!) to finally have confidence in yourself and be proud of your accent!

The group is 4 people max, so that everyone can really practice!

How does it work?

Registration is open for workshops from February 4 to May 6!

This workshop is for you if your accent frustrates you or prevents you from speaking French when you have the opportunity. It is also for you if you are looking to be more natural in informal conversations, and if you want to improve through fun activities and not just repeating sentences!

This is NOT for you if you are already happy with your accent, or if it is not important to you. You also need to be at least A2 in French to do the activities.

How are we going to improve your accent?

To improve the accent (fluency, intonation, emotions, etc.) and pronunciation (if necessary), we will work with fun and creative activities:

  • Tongue twisters, incredibly useful for warming up!
  • Practice fluency with fun sentences
  • Shadowing methods (analysis and imitation of short moments of videos)
  • Theater games (but you don't need to be good at theater or improv, don't worry!)
  • Link between gestures and accent

With all this, we will focus on how to emphasize vowels (unlike English which emphasizes consonants), and how to improve fluency with the principle of laziness (the French are the laziest people in the world!), and finally how to adjust your intonation to the context!

And concretely?

The program lasts for one trimester, every other Tuesday, at 7 p.m., from February 4 to May 6, 2025 :

  • A short introductory session (30 minutes) to get to know each other, break the ice and so that I can see your specific difficulties
  • 6 live workshops (1 hour, every two weeks) to practice according to your difficulties
  • An individual Google Drive folder, where I put feedback on your progress, and personalized advice for working during and outside of workshops
  • You can easily re-register for the following term.

How much does it cost?

For a quarter with 30 minutes of intro, 6 workshops and individual monitoring, the price is 170€ to be paid at the time of registration via Stripe.

As the workshops are focused on practice and not theory, I offer you as a bonus a file with documents on how pronunciation works in French, and the key points to have the French accent!

Let's talk a little about the workshop

You buy the quarterly book as soon as possible. 48 hours before each meeting, you receive the link by email, and the vocabulary and preparation PDF are available on the Drive. On the day of the session, you connect by clicking on the link. The discussion is free and natural. After the meeting, the report is available on the drive.

I don't do miracles, so it will only work if you really practice, but the program is designed to put you in a comfortable and fun environment (no judgment, no shame, just fun!) and help you practice in a natural context through theater exercises. It is also designed to help you work on your self-confidence (we bet you only see what you do "wrong" and not what you already do very well?)

It's also very personalized even though it's a group program: not everyone has the same accent difficulties, and it's important to take that into account! Even if we all do the same exercises, you'll focus on your own difficulties and you'll be able to follow your progress with individual monitoring!
