Lucile, who is that?
- A passion for teaching and fiction since forever: in elementary school, I wrote stories, read them to my class and then gave them a test to see if they had listened (I swear it's true!)
- A desire for originality : after working in schools (primary school in London, engineering school, cultural centers, etc.), I understood that what I really wanted was to get out of the box and adapt completely to my students and, above all, build relationships with them!
- An interest in linguistics : At university, during my Master's degree to become a French as a foreign language teacher, we were told that the trend was towards implicit grammar... I admit: I love explaining grammar, highlighting the logic and structure of tenses (yes, yes, there is a structure, I promise!), and even more linguistics, nuances, which word to choose and when, where certain expressions come from, I find it fascinating!
- An outstanding assistant who loves to intervene during class: my cat, Flint (named after the Flint from Treasure Island and Black Sails, except that he is ultra fearful 😅)!

My values
Transparency : For me, it is essential to work together, to trust yourself and to be able to be honest when something is great, but also when something doesn't totally work!
Proximity : Learning a language is about building human relationships! And that's super important to me, my students and I talk a lot about our lives, our interests, some of them have become friends!
Feminism and LGBTQ+ : These are super important values to me (and if you don't like them, then there's no point in working together!)
Adaptability : I think I don't like strict frameworks very much! I believe in flexibility, and in constantly adapting my ideas, my method and my work to be 100% in line with the desires and needs of my students!
Good mood : Nothing worse than a boring class! I am convinced that we learn better by having fun, laughing, and being happy to come to class. The best compliment a student ever gave me was "French time is my favorite time of the week"!
My offbeat universe
Because I am an original and very funny person (it's not me who says it, it's my students 😂), here are some fun facts:
- I love series, and I do some from time to time conventions ! I love not only meeting and chatting with the actors, but also rediscovering the atmosphere and the friends I make there! Some (incredible) photos taken from the convention =>
- I do some theater ! I did "classical" theater (= plays) for years, and recently I started improv! I use it a lot during my classes, more or less visibly ahah
- I have a lot (too much) ofniche interests : storytelling, creative writing, witches, pirates, tales and legends, Norse mythology, Arthurian legend, astronomy, ancient Egypt… Stop me, I'm probably forgetting some😅

Do we work together?
If you too have way too many niche interests, and you're creative and a bit weird, then we'll get along great :)
