You're learning French, you've learned your tenses and all that, but you can't really see the big picture, understand how the verb system really works, why there are so many tenses and why sometimes you feel like multiple tenses could work in your sentence?

Watch it just below 🙂 Basically, you can understand the verbal system through storytelling: everything starts with the person speaking and what they want others to imagine/visualize. From there, there is actually only one question to ask yourself to choose the right tense!
And that question is: What is really important, the action said by the verb? Or rather the result of the verb? If I tell you "Paul fixed my car", in fact, what is really important is that my car works ! And conversely, if I say to you "Paul repaired my car", we can clearly imagine Paul in the process of repair, it's the action 'repair' that counts the most!
